Introducing a brand new technology that is revolutionising the way we can approach HDMI distribution projects of any size. The HDMI over IP system is the first and only solution to bring together the scope and scalability of everyday IT networks with flawless 1080p high-definition video and 5.1 audio distribution. The only truly “just works” solution, that can be used for any size distribution scenario from family homes to airports and shopping centres.

It is important to point out that this is not just another HDMI over CAT5 balun. The system uses IP packets to distribute the signal on a standard local area network via a standard network switch. This means you can create your own network and the receiver will find the transmitter automatically. It may even be used over smaller existing home networks.

The system can be used point-to-point (similar to a traditional Cat5 balun pair), point-to-many or even many-to-many for multiple source matrix switching. It is entirely possible to send HDMI 1.3 to an incredible 200 displays using a standard IT Ethernet structure on a LAN network. For each source device a Transmitter unit is needed and for each display device a Receiver unit is needed.

1080p can be transmitted an incredible 300 metres away via a single piece of UTP or STP Cat5/6/7 cable without any signal loss. Auto adjustment of the internal video compression rate ensures smooth video streaming under different network conditions. Unlike other HDMI distribution solutions, an integrated scaler function allows different input and output resolutions up to 2048x2048 (meaning that different displays can be at different resolutions) this allows a 1080p source to be displayed at 720p on a lower spec display at the same time as a higher spec 1080p display – all displays are maximised to their fullest resolution potential.

The built in IR passback integrated in the units allow users to return an IR remote control signal back to the source for control over source functions at any of the receiver locations.
