Tekkeon NavDock

MustAVit have just received an iPod dock that will change how you listen to music and enjoy your media!

The dock from Tekkeon supported by Opus Technologies is compatible with all iPods (excluding iPhone) It features on-screen navigation for your TV. The device connects to your TV via a supplied 6 foot AV cable and provides on-TV navigation menus for selecting and playing songs, videos and viewing pictures that are stored on the iPod.

This is all done using the 16 button remote control to adjust or mute volume, shuffle, repeat or skip songs and fast forward or rewind through music or videos. The remote offers a five way navigation pad and quick keys that jump directly to the videos, photos, and music or settings menus.

With the Tekkeon Navdock, the user has complete control. You can change the language, the menu colour scheme to fit your mood, or the navigation speed to fit your taste. You can even access the equalizer or display the lyrics or album art that appears next to your songs in the Now Playing screen in motion as your personalised screensaver.

Setup of the device is very easy and painless, so is worth the money that you spend on the product. Not only does it give you a full media centre with full on-screen navigation, but you can have one for under £150, compared to a dedicated Home Media Centre, this is a Bargain!!

New Product for MustAVit in August

MustAVit have had a look around and have decided to add some products that will be awesome for the summer sun or the summer project for your home.

First up it’s the very popular Boston Acoustics Soundware XS speakers. We have seen the 5.1 system on the website and have added the satellite speakers, either to give you discreet Hi Fi speakers or to add another pair to your surround sound system to give you 7.1. These are only available in Black or White but you will no doubt be able to find somewhere to fit these into your setups. Click on the picture and see if you can find anything you can use them for.

The next group of products are again from Boston Acoustics. They are a selection of CD/Radios, iPod docks/Alarm Clocks, so you can wake up to the summer sounds to set you off into the day in a good mood. The systems we have added produce a big sound, which you could mistake for a dedicated Hi Fi System. Desktop Audio products have become ever popular over recent times so I’m sure these products will fit into many homes very nicely.

Home Automation is so appealing but is out of reach in terms of cost for many people, but now, you don’t even have to think about it taking a huge chunk from your budget to get the automated home you desire.

Ebode electronics have released a selection of products that can allow you to control your exterior and interior lighting, your blinds, curtains and awnings all with the click of a button on a remote control. The system is made up of modules which replace the light switches and other switches that control the items listed above. To be able to control table lamps or appliances, there are plug in modules that you plug into and use the remote control to control those pieces of equipment. Current Audio Whole Home Audio Packages

MustAVit have done some searching and have found a bundle from Current Audio that supplies you with 5 pairs of 6.5” in ceiling speakers and a single stereo in ceiling speaker. This will give you six rooms of discreet sound for your multi-room set or for single room set ups.

The Current Audio CS650 is an easy to install full range in ceiling speaker. The combination of the tweeter and multiplex woofer provides superior and more natural sound for both foreground and background applications. New Products arrive at MustAVit

I just thought I would let everyone know about some fantastic bundles and new products that we have put onto the MustAVit site, from Home Cinema Projector Screens and Multiroom Audio Systems down to our MustAVit branded 1.4 HDMI Cables (High Speed and Ethernet Cable)

Sapphire Fixed Projection Screen

The first group of products to be introduced are the Sapphire Projector Screens. Sapphire has been manufacturing quality AV Equipment, in particular, projection screens since 1999. They make quality reliable products that you can count on. One of our sister company engineers installed a 1.8m Fixed Screen from Sapphire and couldn’t stop praising how easy it was to install, he had it up within the hour and it was the first “Sapphire” Screen he had installed. This will obviously became easier with the amount you install. Whether you need electric screens or fixed projection screens, we have what you need at prices you can afford. Roth Audio CHARLiE

Another set of new products are from Roth Audio and the CHARLiE desktop music system. Roth’s CHARLiE desktop system takes music that is stored on things such as – Macs, PCs, Laptops, TVs, iPhones and iPods/iPads and make them sound very big! There are two systems available in two colours. The first is a 2.0 system with a Roth Dock which is ideal for a kitchen work top and you have the 2.1 system with a Roth Dock and a subwoofer which you could even use as your main music system in the lounge for example. Sonos One Room Bundle

We have also put together some Sonos bundles for Summer 2010. Both of the bundles include a CR200 Controller and a ZP120 Zoneplayer, one comes with a pair of Sonance HiFi Works outdoor speakers and the other with a pair of Roth Audio Oli1 Speakers for a single room setup, with these bundles you can have the start of a Multiroom Music System, because as is the case for every Sonos customer, you won’t be able to stop adding to your system, you’ll be finding room after room as to where you would like music.

After working for 10 years within a very lively European Digital Imaging, Sales and Marketing Department at Kodak Ltd, undertaking various roles, including new product launches, designing exhibition stands and producing product literature, and at that time was expecting our second baby, Andy (my husband) and I decided to start up our own business Webstract Ltd, custom installers of smart home technology, which became a great success. We then decided there was a market for selling direct to consumers who like DIY and electricians who could install many of the products themselves, thus we then set up MustAVit.co.uk so these customers could buy directly from the website.

My role within the company used to change on a daily basis, as we had to multi-task, sales one minute, accounts the next, business management the next, and not forgetting mum the next, to my two gorgeous children Rosie and Bobby, every day was different, but now I focus almost all of my time to marketing (and being mum of course).

When I’m away from the office I enjoy, walking, running, cooking for friends and family, and going out for lovely meals, taking the children out to the farm or swimming, and definitely having a well deserved glass of wine with my husband!

My wish list to do before I get too old is: to do a parachute jump, swim with dolphins, drive a racing car, and go in a hot air balloon.

After leaving Sixth Form with qualifications in Music and Media, the natural progression was into the Music Industry, but as I’m now with MustAVit, someone obviously had other ideas! You may not see the link but believe me, there is one!

My life is based round music; if you were to see me in my spare time (if that’s what you call it) you will see me rushing north, south, east and west of the country to attend music rehearsals and perform in relevant Concert venues. When I do have time to myself I enjoy listening to mainly smooth Jazz and the rest of my eclectic music taste on the Sonos Wireless Audio System that I have in the house! I also live with a house full of gadgets, with the iPhone and other smart phones being my lifeline which is the same, I’m sure for lots people who are reading this in the world we live in today.

I understand and appreciate the need for music in the home situation, to keep you chilled, to get you up in the morning, to get you ready to go out; most of our products on MustAVit.co.uk provide a way to send music around your home in high quality so you don’t miss a note or a word in the lyrics.

MustAVit has evolved over the last year with the new website going live, which looks great and new features on there that have changed how people like yourselves can use the site. For example the Comparison features. We also have lots to look forward to, you may have noticed our presence on Social sites such as Facebook and Twitter do come and look for us on there as we will provide little bits of information which you may find useful. Having spent 10 years as a sparky and 7 years in IT, in 2004 I felt the need to become my own boss again and put my love of gadgets and AV to use & decided to setup Webstract Ltd as a custom installer of Smart Home technology. It was a natural step as I understood cabling and how they should be installed from my sparky days and with my experience in IT the thought of installing technology to control the type of systems that were becoming available was a challenge I had to take.

Webstract was an immediate success and I instantly knew was the right industry for me to work in. I found the systems we installed challenging but also exciting and loved the fact that many of the homes we worked in were absolutely fabulous with indoor swimming pools and home cinemas that sounded better than the local Odeon

After Webstract had been up and running for a while I began to see a demand for this type of technology for the DIY’er and occasional installer ie Electricians, TV aerial fitters etc, who wanted this type of technology for either themselves or their customers. MustAVit was setup and has grown to be one of the most respected places to buy smart home technology today

As you might have noticed, technology and business make me tick, however outside work I try to relax with my wife (and business partner) Lisa and our 2 young children Rosie and Bobby. Time is always very precious as most business people would probably agree and the time with our kids is mostly spent in the park or out with our friends around where we live. I’ve never been great at sport but have just started to hack my way round a golf course and convincing myself this is also exercise, although the bacon butties and a few pints at the 19^th soon put way to any calories burnt off. At the end of a hard day the one thing that I truly enjoy is a nice chilled glass of wine with Lisa and a bit of mellow Jazz on the radio, naturally through the multiroom entertainment system in our home.
